Pull Your Free Annual Credit Report Before the End of the Year

free annual credit report

This is a public service announcement and reminder to pull one of your credit reports from Experian, Transunion, or Equifax by the end of the year. The only place you should do this is by going to the official site www.annualcreditreport.com.

It is Federal law that allows each of us to get a free copy of your credit report from each of the 3 credit reporting companies every 12 months. Keep in mind that these credit reports do not have an official FICO score for any of the companies. There are important things you should look for on your credit report.

My recommendation is NOT to pull each of the 3 credit reports at the same time; otherwise, you will have to wait another 12 months to pull the report again. Rather you should spread out the 3 credit reports over the course of 12 months. I know it is difficult to keep track of when you pulled each credit report. Aside from any big financial purchase I intend to make namely a house, I pull one credit report in January, summer, and December.
